Health Benefits of Goat Cheese
I personally love goat cheese and it is easy to incorporate into your daily meals. It is easy to add to a salad, a dollop on soup, spread on toast, scramble it with eggs, stir into grits, a burger topping, spread on fruit with a drizzle of raw honey or pair it with smoked salmon. If you have a favorite recipe using goat cheese please send and I’ll add it to our recipes section.

It addition to tasting great it’s very healthy. Here are a few health benefits of this great tasting cheese:

1. High in Protein- There are five grams of protein in a single ounce of goat cheese!

2. High in Nutrients- Goat cheese contains many nutrients including the amino acid tryptophan, phosphorus. riboflavin or vitamin B2 (which plays important roles in the body’s energy production), potassium (which helps prevent high blood pressure and protects against arteriosclerosis),vitamin B-6 ,niacin, copper and the antioxidant selenium.

3. It’s Easy to Digest- People who are lactose intolerant are sometimes able to tolerate goat cheese even if they have problems digesting cheese made from cow’s milk. The levels of lactose are similar, but the fat molecules in goat cheese are shorter, making them more digestible. Even people who don’t have a lactose intolerance will find that goat cheese appears to be more easily digested than conventional dairy products.

4. Raises your Metabolism- the calcium in cheese have been proven to assist the body’s burning of fat after meals and raising your metabolism.

5. Good For Your Brain- Dairy plays an important role in the brain’s functioning. A 2012 study found those who regularly have dairy products such as milk, cheese and yogurt score better in tests of mental ability than people who never, or rarely, consume dairy products.
