All living things thrive in non-stressful environments. For our animals to do so, we must provide natural biodynamic soils that create good nutritious grasses. We are a grass-finished farm because the bovine (cow) was designed by our Creator to forage, stay healthy, and be completely sustained on a green pasture diet. By grazing, the cows keep the soil fertile, returning native minerals and nutrients to the earth, making the bovine a helpful friend to humanity and Mother Nature. Cattle are not designed to eat grain, which is force-fed to animals raised in feedlots for commercial mass-produced food systems. These grains are loaded with starches, which cause added stress on the digestive system, forcing the bovine to exert more energy to process this food through their bodies. The combination of stress and excess energy result in a meat product that is tough and stringy. Science has shown that grass-fed and grass-finished beef is higher in four elements essential to a healthy human diet: it is lower in fat calories, there are more Omega-3 fatty acids (the good fats), it is high in vitamin E and Conjugated Linoleic Acid (fatty acid that reduce cardiovascular disease, fight carcinogens, and have anti-cancer properties).
