Group Orders:WFN and Unrefined Sea Salt, Pick Up Issues and more

This post expired on November 14, 2023.

Hi Everyone,

Group Buys: Wilderness Family Naturals and Saltworks

This weekend we will be taking pre-orders for organic pantry items from Wilderness Family Naturals(WFN). These items include healthy oils, nuts, spices, cacao, grains, rice, coconut products, natural sweeteners and skin care products.

Mayonnaise is back! WFN was having an emulsification issue for many months and it is finally resolved. Their awesome organic mayonnaise now available again!

Case Pricing for Organic, Soaked and Dried Nuts
In order to get a reduced price on the mixed nuts we need to order 25lbs as a group. These certified organic nuts have been soaked as Sally Fallon and the Weston A. Price Foundation suggests, and then dehydrated at low temperatures.

Mixed nuts includes Raw, Certified Organic, Soaked and Dried Nuts: Pecans, Almonds, Walnuts, and Cashews. These are delicious and healthy! This will be listed on the market tomorrow.

In addition, we will have our group buy for Unrefined Sea Salts fron Saltworks

We only order sel gris de Guérande twice a year and this is the last time in 2013! Please expect to pick up your salt order in 1 to 2 weeks. See my gift idea below. During the holidays I gift this salt to friends and family and they absolutely love it!

Sea Salt Description
The French perfected the art of high quality, hand-harvested sea salt by using centuries old Celtic methods. It’s no coincidence they produce the finest grey sea salt in the world. Sel Gris is known for its beautiful grey color, coming from the clay lining the salt ponds, as well as its high moisture content and extraordinary mineral content, with bonus nutrients not found in most sea salts. Over 15% of the material in sel gris de Guérande are trace minerals—possibly the highest of any salt anywhere. 100 grams of sel gris contains about 100 minerals, including 34g of sodium, 287mg calcium, 109mg potassium, 34mg magnesium, 11mg iron, 1mg manganese, and 0.35mg zinc, plus a host of trace minerals like from antimony, copper, germanium, and gold to iodine, to palladium, yttrium, and zirconium.

Sel Gris Tamisé is a medium-sized crystal that is carefully sifted from the brut grains and is comparable to the size of Fleur de Sel. Great for baking and cooking, or to add a delicate crunch to your favorite dish.

Sel Gris Fine is the very same high quality grey salt as the coarser varieties, but is stone ground for easy dispensing from a salt shaker. No additives of any kind are mixed with the salt. The naturally delicious flavor of grey salt and its lower sodium content make this a perfect replacement for ordinary table salt.

Gift Idea- Pour unrefined sea salt into a decorative glass jar, add beautiful ribbon and it’s the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys cooking! You can even add a card with the description above. Makes a perfect Hostess gift too!

Only items that are in stock as of today will be listed. I expect the order to be available for pick up in 2 weeks. If you will be on vacation when it comes in, I can hold your items since these items are non-perishable. As with all our group buys, this is a prepaid preorder. Our buying club prices are significantly lower than their retail prices and include taxes, shipping and fees.

Thanksgiving Week Pick Up

It will be business as usual and we will have our normal pick up schedule the Tuesday on Thanksgiving (Nov 26th).

If you know that you will be out of town and you have a produce box, please go ahead and put your box on vacation hold online or call Nature’s Garden Delivered and they will put a vacation hold on your account.

Pick Up Issues (PLEASE READ)

Typically we strive to have co-op pick up start around 1pm but lately we’ve had some late deliveries. I’m asking that you try not to come until after I send the “Co-op Items are Ready” email. When you arrive at the same time as our vendors it gets very chaotic and crowded in the garage. We had a jar broken because our dairymen and volunteer were hauling coolers up from the bottom of my drive way. Most of you know how steep my drive is and having to unload and carry to the top is very time consuming to say the least. If you have to come at 1pm I just ask that you park on the sides of the cul de sac instead of my drive way.

So please be patient with us as we try really hard to have everything ready at 1pm but sometimes the animals or traffic affect our farmers ability to deliver before 1pm. Co-op pick up is from the time I send the email out to 7pm.

Another issue is I’ve been giving a lot of grace to members that forget to pick up on Tuesdays. It’s been months that I haven’t had an item or box left on Tuesday. This can not continue. Please refer to the Packing List on the table to see what you ordered. I suggest checking off the items to make sure you don’t leave without them.

Starting this week, any items or produce boxes not picked up on Tuesday by end of the day will be donated on Wednesday unless you contact me before then. I do not have the time to send out emails and call folks to come get their items.

My goal is to make the co-op convenient but I can no longer bear the inconvenience of left over items. I take the time to send out a reminder email to everyone on Tuesday and that will be the only reminder going forward. I will not have 2 pick up days and my husband really needs to park in the garage. Poor guy gives up his garage on Tuesdays and I can’t ask any more of him…

Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter.
