Lizzie’s Pantry Closeout deals

Lizzie’s Pantry has a few items remaining that have been reduced to sell final inventory.
Reduced this time -

  • Gluten Free Flour on for $12.00 which is below cost.
  • 4 pales of the 7-Grain Cereal left (8 pounds) $20.00
  • Einkorn Wheat, $25.00
  • Quinoa, $5.00
  • 25lb Brown Rice – $25.00
  • The Gamma lids are a bargain for $6.00!

Also, I have great news – Liz will continue to provide Spices (in bags instead of glass jar- $1 off) to the market on a weekly basis! In addition, we will have a quarterly group buy with Liz for Georgia Olive Oil! More details to come as we get closer to buy date.

Salmon, Water Buffalo and Pastured Meats fully stocked!

It’s been a busy week for our farmers and fisherman!

Doug has Wild Caught Alaskan Salmon & Halibut back online! We are fully stocked with Halibut steaks, Salmon Filets, portions, burger, and smoked salmon!

Carrell Farms has ground water buffalo and sausages back on the market!

B&G has grass fed beef, pastured pork and chicken all stocked up too! Please note that the LABEL on B&G’s meat will have the processor label on it instead of the farm’s. Lynda has been trying to get her new label approved by the state of GA for 3 weeks now. They rejected it this time because the picture of GA state line was not quite straight. In order for her to have meat listed this week she asked her meat packer to put their label on her product. This is completely legal since they package the meats for her. She wants to make sure you all know that it is HER meat though not Williamsburg Packing.

Lizzie’s Pantry is closing

It is with an extremely sad heart that I let you know Lizzie’s Pantry will be closing. I’ve worked with Liz for over 2 years and she will be dearly missed at the market. This will probably be the last week that Lizzie’s Pantry will be listed. If you need grains, spices, olive oil, oats/cereals, flax seeds, pancake mixes, grits, containers, apple cider vinegar, natural sweeteners, baking mixes, and flours please order this weekend.

Due to many of their suppliers increasing their minimum orders and the increased shipping costs, they just can’t afford to re-order and carry large inventory levels.

Liz and I work really well together and we plan to hopefully co-ordinate some group buys so we can get some of these items back on the market. They just won’t be offered weekly any longer.

For those who have visited Lizzie’s Pantry, you know it is a cute little country store with plenty of parking and is adjacent to the Braselton City Park. It’s also a prime location for people to visit during the semi-annual festivals and other events the City holds. So if you have been looking for a location for your business, they would love to talk with you. Their rent is less than half of what the City charges for its spaces and the space is move in ready. Please give Liz a call or let people know who are looking. Liz would appreciate any help she can receive in finding a tenant for the building. The Landlord is very easy to work with and is allowing her to sub-let.

This really makes me sad but it is another example of why we should support and buy from local businesses!

I know you all will join me in wishing Liz much success in her future endeavors!

Coffee Roastery Open House THIS WEEKEND!

This is a fun and educational event for the whole family even if you are not a coffee drinker! There’s a lot of science and art behind a good cup o’ joe! Just stop by any time during the open house hours.

Roastery Open House on February 7, 2016, 10am-3pm. The address is 741 Harry McCarty Rd, Unit 102, Bethlehem, GA 30620. (316 East to Hwy 29)

Cultured Traditions has listed a new traditional Russian fermented drink – Bread Kvass
What is Bread Kvass?
Bread Kvass is a fermented beverage traditionally made from toasted dark rye bread. It has been consumed in Russia for at least 1,000 years, enjoyed by everyone from czars to peasants. Slightly brown and bubbly, with a beer-like taste and many other malty and fruity flavor notes, Bread Kvass is very refreshing and is said to be among the best things on earth to quench your thirst. During hot summer months in Russia it is sold straight from huge barrels by street vendors and people line up to get a glass of cold tangy beverage.
Many of the healthy properties of traditionally made kvass come from the fermentation process. They never pasteurize or heat their Kvass, it is living probiotic goodness! They do not use any commercial yeasts or starters instead they grow their own. This is definitely a fun, healthy drink to try!
Also, their Kimchi is ON SALE! Look for this in the Weekly Special section on the market website.
