News:Wilderness Family Naturals Group Buy this weekend

Hi Everyone,
Here is this week’s news.

Group Buy This Weekend:Wilderness Family Naturals

This weekend we will be taking pre-orders for organic pantry items from Wilderness Family Naturals. These items include healthy oils, nuts, spices, cacao, grains, rice, coconut products, natural sweeteners and skin care products.

Our buying club prices are significantly lower than their retail prices and include taxes, shipping and fees.

Only items that are in stock as of today will be listed. I expect the order to be available for pick up in 2 weeks. If you will be on vacation when it comes in, I can hold your items since these items are non-perishable. As with all our group buys, this is a prepaid preorder.

New Item: Pour Cap for Glass Milk Jars

“Don’t cry over spilled milk.” The person who coined this phrase obviously doesn’t buy milk from the co-op! In an effort to make the milk from glass Mason jars a little easier to pour I have found an ingenious product- mason jar pour caps from reCap Mason Jars. One would think that Mason jars have been around since 1858 that there would be plenty of products that would solve this problem but this is the only one I could find. It is made of BPA-free plastic and designed to coordinate with the charming vintage zinc caps.

Proudly made in the USA, spill-proof, top rack dishwasher safe and can be used on all wide mouth mason jars. “Shake, Pour, Store: – grains and cereals – maple syrup, honey, milk… – homemade dressing – household cleaners”. We were able to get bulk pricing and the caps are only $5.50 each and include shipping, taxes and fees.

Seafood Minimums not met- Still time to order!

Hello Members,

There are a few seafood items that the minimum for bulk pricing was not met. I’m going to extend the deadline to order until 5pm TODAY for seafood only. If you would like any of the seafood items please reply to this email.

At the end of the day, if we still haven’t met the minimums, I will contact those members that have already ordered to give the option of non-discounted pricing. This price will include free shipping.

I will place our order tomorrow (Tuesday) and pick up will be the following Tuesday on 7/9.

If you are out of town and can not pick up I can store in the freezer for you until you get back. It’s not a problem at all! Just let me know if you need me to hold it for you.

Below are the seafood items that we still need orders to meet the minimum:

Nora

Produce Box delivery will be on TUESDAY

Hello Everyone,

I have received confirmation that Nature’s Garden Delivered produce boxes will be delivered on TUESDAY not Monday. We will have our normal TUESDAY pick up on July 2nd.

I will send an email after the boxes are dropped off so please do not arrive until you see the “Items are Ready” email on Tuesday afternoon.

Thanks so much,
Nora

Produce Box Delivery (Nature's Garden Delivered Customers only)

Hello Everyone,

I’m still working with Michael at NGD to see if we can get delivery on Tuesday as opposed to Monday. He is currently looking into it and has not ruled it out. As soon as I know if they can accommodate us I will let you know.

If they do delivery on Monday and you have items besides their produce box you can either pick up on both days or I will hold your box and you can pick up everything on Tuesday as normal.

Sorry for the confusion. I’ll update as soon as I know.

Thank you,
Nora

Group Buy This Weekend

Sustainably Caught Wild Seafood Bulk Order this Weekend

This weekend we will be having our group bulk order for Wild Caught Seafood from Vital Choice. We only do this a few times a year and will not have another seafood group buy again until November when Heidi (from Wild Salmon Company) gets back from Alaska.

In order for us to get discount pricing we have to reach certain minimums, if we do not reach the minimums on all the items I will let you know and you will have the option to purchase at the non-discounted price and still take advantage of our FREE shipping. More details about Vital Choice is at the bottom of this weblog.

New Grower: Caley’s Culinaries Farms

I am very excited to welcome Rebecca Caley of Caley’s Culinaries to our family of growers. Caley’s Culinaries is a small family farm located in Buford,GA in the Hamilton Mill area. Their property is only 1 of 2 properties still zoned agricultural in that area! They have a variety of seasonal produce growing but what’s ready right now is their Genovese Basil that is perfect for making pesto or a fresh caprese salad. Dry it in a low temp oven and you’ll have basil ready at all times to season your favorite dishes. They will list more items as they are ready. All grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers!

Goat Milk: New Grower

It is with sadness that I let you know that Montage Farm will no longer be able to provide the co-op with raw goat milk. Most of you know that they’ve lost their farm help a few months ago. In addition, Angie had back surgery last winter but is still not where she was before she hurt her back. Due to these issues they have made the difficult decision to sell most of their herd and are drying up the rest. Please keep Angie and her family in your prayers as they go through this transition.

In lieu of this news, I am happy to announce that Rusty Repp of Little Tots Estate in Loganville, GA will provide the co-op with raw goat milk starting this week. Rusty raises Nigerian Dwarf Goats Nigerian dwarf milk is highest in butterfat and solids compared to most other breeds of dairy goats. His entire herd is CAE free (Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis) and Johnes negative and they are healthy happy little goats. He will be offering his raw goat milk under the Georgia pet milk license.

Vendors on Vacation

A&A Alta Cucina and Orobianco are both in Italy! Their items are currently unavailable but will be back on the market once they return.

Glass Jars Still Available

Glass Jars are still available if you’d like to purchase milk from Cedar Rock Farm in glass. I will keep the jar sets listed on the co-op site until they are sold out. Please refer to the the Q&A section of the website for more information about the glass jar program.

Only those members that bought jars last week or brought me jars BEFORE Tuesday 6/25 will be allowed to purchase in glass this weekend. All others must purchase milk in plastic.

Co-op Member Business Directory

I have updated the co-op business directory. If you’d like to be added to next month’s update please send me your information and I’ll be happy to add. You can find the updated link in the About section of the market website in the We Support You paragraph.

Vital Choice Information

Below is the co-op discounted pricing and links to detailed descriptions from Vital Choice’s website. These items will be on tomorrow’s price list for ordering. Our minimums will be the “Available(estimated)” amounts and we can go over that number since it’s just a minimum to get the discount.

Portugese Sardines Update We usually get boneless, skinless sardines but they no longer carry this product. The portugese sardines that are listed are regular sardines (skin on,with bones) packed in Organic Extra Virgin Oil Oil.

You’ll enjoy several advantages when you choose Vital Choice seafood:
•Certified Purity – By nature, their wild fish and shellfish are free of hazardous levels of contaminants (see in their revealing mercury chart on their website).
•Top Quality – Their seafood will always be the very best quality available … a promise supported by their many testimonials, and backed by their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
•Stellar Nutrition – In addition to ample protein, their fish are rich in two vital nutrients scarce in modern diets: omega-3s and vitamin D.
•Sustainable Sustenance – All of their seafood comes from well-managed, sustainable wild fisheries, certified as such by the State of Alaska, the Marine Stewardship Council, and independent organizations like the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program, which advises consumers to avoid farmed Salmon.
