Market News
There are lots of fresh veggies and fruits- (berries, cantaloupe, watermelon) on the market this week. It’s amazing what some rain can do!!
Don’t miss out on the flavorful heirloom tomatoes, they won’t last long! My family enjoyed them simply sliced with just a sprinkle of sea salt, olive oil, Basil- Red Rubin from Caley’s and a dash of A&A Alta Cucina Crema Balsamic Vingar. It was beautiful and delicious! The purple and green hues from the basil really brought out the different colors of the tomatoes and it looked like a work of art. Made an impressive plate for 5 minutes of work!
Also, great time to stock up to have some good tomatoes for all the soups and stews this winter! TIP: If you are not a canner, you can actually freeze tomatoes whole- no need to blanch and peel. When you defrost them the skin slips right off.
ALL the veggies and fruits listed on the market are either Certified Naturally Grown or organically grown. NO synthetic chemical pesticides or fertilizers ever used

Volunteers Needed
Please consider volunteering during market pick up. I can’t run the co-op without your help!
We need 1 volunteer for the 5pm shift next Tuesday!
THANK YOU Mollie, Pam, and Chuck for helping out on Tuesday! We couldn’t run the co-op without your support!
FAREWELL and A BIG THANK YOU to Marie for helping out for over 4 years! Many of you may or may not have met my good friend Marie. She has been helping me set up the market for the past 4 years and is one of the reasons why the market runs so smoothly on Tuesdays. Most times she gets to the warehouse even before I do! She will be moving to south Georgia soon and will be dearly missed! Hoping to get her back once a month when she stocks up on co-op goodies!
The schedule through the end of the year is posted. To sign up click: Vounteer Sign up
No packing is involved just need someone to be there to assist other members. You are welcome to bring your kids as long as they are supervised.
FACEBOOK – Opportunity to help!
Many of you have told me that you can’t volunteer due to your work/family schedule and I completely understand. You’ve also asked what else can I do help out the co-op? Here’s one way that will really help us out – if you are on Facebook or other social media please consider posting a pic of your co-op goodies! I have a very limited marketing budget and really depend on word of mouth advertising. Please feel free to spread the word about our wonderful market! Tag us @SuwaneeWholeLife
Thank you in advance for your support!

Collagen/Gelatin & FCLO Info
Great Lakes Gelatin (the Green can) Collagen Hydrolysate (beef kosher) Unflavored
Gelatin (also known as cooked collagen) has wonderful anti-inflammatory and anti-aging qualities, as it helps to fill in the missing amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) in the standard American diet. This is a completely different from the jiggly gelatin product most of us grew up eating as kids.
Homemade bone broth is chock full of gelatin and very nutrient dense but Great Lakes Gelatin- Collagen is a convenient way to get gelatin consistently into your diet.
What is Collagen Hydrolysate?
Hydrolyzed Collagen is the unique combination of amino acids in concentrated levels that promotes rapid re-production of blood cells for healing and conditioning over other proteins especially for bone and joint health care. This low molecular weight protein is easily digested for healthy enrichment in minutes after ingestion. It will not congeal because it has been hydrolyzed for quick assimilation and improved hydration to the connective tissue. Collagen is important to nitrogen balance, now considered an anti-aging product as it supports age related cartilage damage, and collagen loss. source: http://greatlakesgelatin.com/)
How do I use this product?
You can mix it in drinks, shakes, smoothies, or add a tablespoon to your favorite recipe to give it an anti-inflammatory protein boost. It will dissolve in cold liquids very easily.
How Much Do You Need?
Recommended dosage: Take one rounded tablespoon (10-12 g) in the morning, and the same amount before going to bed in the late evening which will help reduce appetite. This product has a low molecular weight so it will dissolve in cold, warm, or hot liquids.
Important Note: Remember not to get too carried away with gelatin. Adding too much too quickly can cause digestive issues: bloating, loss of appetite, stomach ache are just a few side effects.
It’s important to remember that more gelatin is not always better, especially if you are adding it to your diet for the first time.
Gelatin should be used in addition to a nutrient dense diet and not to replace real food like homemade bone broths and grass fed meats.
It is also really important to take this daily. You will see maximum results if you include it in your daily routine.
