Market News
I hope everyone had a great first week of school! I took this picture of my son today before heading off to school holding the Candy Roaster squash from Fry Farm and had to show you all. (sorry pic is so big- I can’t figure out how to change size for website…)
The picture on the market listing just doesn’t do it justice. It is 9lbs!! It’s flavor is a cross between pumpkin, sweet potato and butternut squash. You can can use it any way you would use any of those above, i.e. puree, pie, muffins, bread, in a smoothie, roasted, and/or soup to name a few ideas.
Southern Essentials has a new soap Tea Tree / Cedarwood with ground pumice. I just tried it and it is amazing. Great scent and the pumice is not to harsh and really made my skin feel smooth.
JavaGenesis just got in a new crop Mexico El Triunfo! A few people have asked if the coffees on the market are organic. All of our coffees are grown with no synthetic chemicals and no pesticides. We have two coffees that are organic. Mexico El Triunfo and Costa Rica La Amistad beans come to JavaGenesis with organic certifications. We only carry specialty grade coffees which are the top 3-5% beans available. They are mostly grown by small farms that often can’t afford to complete the organic certification process. Our importers visit the farms and see their growing methods, so they assure us that they are growing with no chemicals.
The bags arrive with ‘organic’ on the labels. The reason why you don’t see organic in the listing is because it is very costly to certify their facility “Organic” and that would mean higher prices for us.
Carrell Farms has Pasture Raised Lamb back on the market and some new cuts of Alpaca!
My Daily Bread is back on the market this week! They have their delicious, fresh organic salsa on market this week, regular and peach!
B&G Farm has about a dozen EXTRA LARGE chickens left. Once they are sold out they won’t be on the market again that large. Even though these are large birds they are still very juicy due to the breed. If you are not a big turkey fan this is a great alternative for your holiday meal. The chickens are vacuum sealed and will keep in your freezer for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years celebration.
ALL the veggies and fruits listed on the market are either Certified Naturally Grown or organically grown. NO synthetic chemical pesticides or fertilizers ever used
